Bedtime is time a wind down at the end of day, feel calm and relax but for children with sensory processing disorder (SPD), bedtime can be a challenge.

Finding comfortable pajamas that are sensory friendly is so important for children to have a restful night's sleep. This is why sensory-friendly pajamas are a great tool for kids who struggle with sensory differences.

Sensory-friendly pajamas are made with super soft and smooth fabric that are gentle on sensitive skin. Children with sensory processing disorder can struggle with tactile dysfunction and cannot tolerate many different fabrics because they can cause them anxiety and discomfort.

Sensory friendly pajamas are made with buttery soft and breathable fabrics such as organic cotton or bamboo because they are hypoallergenic and great for sensitive skin. These fabrics are also free from harmful chemicals and dyes so they're better for children with allergies or skin sensitivities.

Pj's that are sensory friendly are usually seamless or have flat sensory seams, there are no tags or rough seams that can irritate your child's skin. Children with sensory differences can struggle with even the smallest little seam or clothing tag. It can feel like sharp to them like something is poking in their skin. Seams and clothes tags can cause a lot of discomfort and distress. Sensory friendly pajamas provide a smooth and seamless feel that is gentle on the skin and eliminating irritation.

Sensory friendly pj's sometimes have adaptive features too. Children with sensory challenges often have difficulty with fine motor skills and may struggle with buttoning or zipping up their pajamas. Sensory friendly pajamas usually have easy to use adaptive features like elastic waistbands, snap buttons or straps that are adjustable. These adaptive clothing features make it easier for children to dress themselves without feeling overwhelmed or frustrated.

Sensory friendly pajamas should have a snug fit and help a child with their self-regulation and calming. Sensory-friendly pajamas also offer emotional benefits for children with sensory difficulties. These pajamas are often made with different colors, patterns or characters so a child will want to choose a pair that they want to wear.

These sensory pajamas offer a lot of different benefits for children who are struggling with tactile dysfunction and sensory differences. Sensory friendly pajamas can significantly improve a child's bedtime because it can potentially take away the discomfort and irritability they usually feel at bedtime. Sensory-friendly pajamas can help children with sensory processing disorder sleep better because they are comfortable.
